The Nuremberg Institute of Technology Georg Simon Ohm – TH Nuremberg in short – is one of the largest universities in Germany. The wide range of studies with a large selection of specialisations is highly practice oriented.
Twelve faculties provide Bachelor’s and Master’s degree courses as well as further training courses and opportunities with a certificate upon completion, and dual study variants. The TH Nuremberg is an important driver of innovation for the metropolitan region of Nuremberg and maintains excellent contacts with the business community. Experienced teachers introduce current projects into lectures and seminars.
The TH Nuremberg is internationally networked and has developed global partnerships with some 160 universities. The campus in Nuremberg offers international flair through students from a plethora of nations. The university is named after the physician Georg Simon Ohm, who from 1833 worked at the university as Professor for Physics and Mathematics and from 1839 to 1849 as Vice-Chancellor. The history of the university dates to the year 1823.
